Beach in La Ceiba, Honduras, after the storm The farewell to our host family on 29 February was not very easy, we had a really good time together. By bus we went to Rio Dulce, a small romantic village. Half-way flow to Livingston (Reagge-village on the caribbean), we stayed two days in a forest or mangrove hostel, we did some canoeing in the tributaries of the Rio Dulce. We discovered hot sulfur springs (which was used to cure the mosquito bites), but also picturesque and romantic waterfalls in the middle of the jungle, the fast craft in the clear water was simply wonderful. Nature was unique (only accessible by waterway) on the pier in front of our hostel we saw over 20 hummingbirds, nectar from the flowers of a tree drawn, turtles, fish and a lot of tropical, shimmering in all colors of birds. We met a Canadian couple to know Dona and Emily, both 60, globetrotter, ex-hippies, he knew ornithologist (bird watching), and always armed with binoculars, each bird about to tell something. On joint canoe with you, we not only had fun, we also learned a lot about the nature of things intressant.

Funny, beer-filled days with lots of stories about Woodstock, Goa, Nepal, cannabis and the free love of the 60's. (But Ornithology ;-)

The colors and spirit of Livingston .... We had first returns to the Bay Islands (Utila) selected in Honduras, we had a 16-hour trip by boat and bus to La Ceiba. where we had to wait because of a storm three days for better weather. This time passed, however, relatively quickly, as we met with five friends from Antigua to jointly make the certification card in Utila. The trip on the third day was the ferry in the still stormy raging sea to throw up, and some had that too, but we do not! So we are already one week here, and have the open-water certification behind us. The coral reefs in the Bay Islands are the largest after Australia's Great Barrier Reef, which for us newly discovered underwater world is breathtaking! Just to name a few: giant turtles, moray eels, barracudas, stingrays, squid ..... and thousands of colored, luminous fish. Next week we will do the advanced certification, a night dive is included, we are excited about this adventure.

Uebungsbesprechung on the first day of diving .... joy we have in the sand flies that make a the take-off Day on the beach to the chagrin, and in bed, it is the bed-buck's, which make it impossible to bite your a scratch-free night. But not so bad, we still have some posts with a bit of skin that is not erased, and if we consider it positive: it has no mosquitoes here! In this sense we greet you and wish you slowly but surely warm spring day!
